FOTD: Dusty Lilacs and Pink Lips

With July here and summer in full swing, I'm enjoying putting a little more color into my makeup routine. I want to be just as vibrant as the flowers in my backyard!

I wanted to show off my new Elizabeth Arden shadow quad, so I created a dusty lilac-hued eye that I blended with a few MAC shadows (Scene, Crystal, and Quarry). The result was a very soft purple eye that I'm really loving, and one that I feel is pretty wearable for day and night.

To brighten the look, I gave myself a rosy cheek with my Physician's Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose and used Revlon's Pink in the Afternoon lipstick.
(The angles at which I have to hold my head to photograph my makeup really cracks me up. I look so special.)
I really like wearing Revlon's Pink in the Afternoon now that I'm tan. I think it's a little too harsh and yellow for pale skin, but against darker skin, it takes on a sweet, bubble gum pink that I'm obsessing over. It pretty much screams Barbie doll but I also think it's the perfect summer lip color for me (for the moment, at least).

How are you wearing your makeup now that summer is here? Do you have a favorite summer product?
