De-Scuffing Patent Leather Shoes

This isn't a beauty post, but it's definitely a post that lots of women can relate to!

There's nothing worse than when you scuff a much loved pair of patent leather shoes. Scuff marks on patent leather are usually regarded as the kiss of death for the shiny, lacquered look of the item. I've thrown out a beautiful patent leather purse simply because I couldn't deal with scuff marks.

I recently read that non-acetone nail polish remover can be used to remove marks from patent leather, but I don't have a bottle of non-acetone polish laying around at the moment, and I didn't want to buy any.

I decided to try a soft brush and some toothpaste to see if I could buff the marks out, and well, see for yourself what happened.

The goods:
I let the tooth paste sit on the scuff for about ten minutes before I started buffing the spot with the soft brush. I buffed in small circles to try and bring the scuff off of the leather.
I then alternated with an eraser pencil. The eraser tip helped to pull the scuff away from the leather.
I repeated the toothpaste maneuver one more time, and after a few minutes of scrubbing, the scuff were almost gone, and the shoe looked nearly new!

So before you throw out your shoes or bags, try this technique and see if it works for you!
