FOTD: Simple Smokey

It's my birthday today (28?? Seriously?!). Unfortunately, instead of drinking green beer and hanging out with friends, I'll be sitting in class taking notes on sheltered language instruction. Ah, the life of a teacher.

Anyway, I barely slept last night (pre-Bday excitement?), and because I'm a little tired, I wanted something a bit simple and easy and quick. Of course, being me, I still wanted a bit of drama, so I smoked a neutral shadow out for a little "oomph!"

Overall, I love this look. Of course, the natural lighting does help considerably in amping up my fox factor! :)

Notable products used:

  • Revlon ColorStay Foundation in 110 Ivory (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this formula. Super smooth on the skin, blends well and is very, very buildable, and matches my winter white skin perfectly. I will never be able to adequately describe my love for this cheapo wonder product).
  • Cover Girl Cheekers Blush in Pretty Peach (because every woman should own a peach blush; it is the world's most universally flattering shade).
  • Lots and lots of MAC shadows (namely Quarry, Scene, Rice Paper, and Shroom). These colors blend together beautifully and last for hours. Combined the look is natural and just the tiniest bit "sex pot." Yes, please!).
  • L'Oreal Color Riche l/s in Gilded Pink. Just because.

Minor complaint: I might be the only woman in the world who hates that fact that she has incredibly thick eyelashes. No matter what, I can't define them properly because there's simply too damn many of them for me to handle. They clump together, go this way and that, look spidery after one coat of mascara, and are just generally impossible to tame *shakes fist impotently*.

I received another coupon from CVS today (surprise, surprise!). This one is $6 off the price of any Physician's Formula product.

Considering one of the following:

Shimmer Strips Blush and Highlighter in Rosy Glow. I love delicate pink cheeks in Spring; these colors remind me of an Easter egg.

Eyebrightener Brightening Liquid liner in Metallic Black. Mostly I'm a crayon/kohl kinda girl. I've never much cared for liquid liners because I think they tend not to last on my lids, which can be slightly oily. However, this is priced at $6.50, and with the coupon, it would only cost me $.50. Not a bad price for an experiement, if you ask me.

I'm trying to avoid buying any more eyeshadows. Lord knows I've got enough as it is. I find I have to remind myself there's more to makeup than just shadow ;) Sigh, decisions, decisions...
